The fevers wane and the lulls build hope
Experiencing temporary relief and building hope.
But always return to stir the passions
The recurrence of challenges that ignite emotions.
Of the cowardly
Affecting the emotions of the fearful and weak-willed.
And set ablaze the cannibalistic hearts
Igniting the ruthless and predatory nature within.
Of evil men
Fueling the malevolent intentions of wicked individuals.
To ink another page
Creating a lasting impact on history.
In the blood of those deserving and those not
Documenting the consequences for both deserving and undeserving.
Our leaders, our enemies
Reflection on the conflicting roles of leaders and adversaries.
Who speak in the sour tongue of beasts
Criticizing the deceptive language used by those in power.
And if there are enemies at every turn
Acknowledging the presence of challenges at every turn.
By necessity, an opposition must exist
Recognizing the need for opposition in response to adversity.

Expressing resistance through spoken words.
In action
Emphasizing the importance of action in resistance.
By principle
Asserting resistance based on fundamental principles.
Our lives must be our resistance
Declaring that personal lives embody the spirit of resistance.
It's not a war that we will ever win
Acknowledging the impossibility of complete victory in the struggle.
But we fight it everyday, until our own end
Commitment to the daily fight against adversity until the end.
We revolt in the way we live
Rebellion reflected in the way one lives.
Because selling out has never been an option
Rejecting compromise because betraying principles is not an option.
It's not a war that we will ever win
Reiteration of the ongoing, unwinnable struggle.
But giving in will never be an option
