Contemplating on creating songs about past or future times.
Of times gone, or yet to come
Exploring the tension between the present, past, and future.
I was looking through a dark distorted lens
Viewing life through a distorted and negative perspective.
So it ain't no wonder why it all went tense
Acknowledging the reasons for the tense situation, possibly related to distorted perceptions.
If we've got filters through which we see the world
Recognizing the presence of filters shaping one's worldview.
Then I must admit that mine had messed me up
Admitting that personal filters have caused confusion or problems.
Oh, but there'll be no fear to dust off and start again
Expressing a determination to overcome fear and start anew.
Can I be conscious
Questioning the level of consciousness and self-awareness.
Just enough to lift myself out of autopilot
Striving to break free from routine and act with intention.
And in contemplation, I'm having visions
Experiencing imaginative thoughts about an ideal life.
Of a life I'd like to lead
Aspiring to lead a life aligned with these visions.
I'll search for answers
Committing to seek answers and make necessary changes.
And where to alter and amend
Identifying areas in life that require modification.
Will come to light
Believing that solutions will become apparent.
I'm sure of it
Expressing confidence in the eventual clarity of the situation.
